Welcome to American Classic Pedigrees!
Interested in Thoroughbred breeding? Want to find out more of the history behind the names you see in pedigrees? You're in the right place! As a pedigree analyst with over 40 years of experience in researching Thoroughbred bloodlines, I've put together this site to put the resources you're looking for at your fingertips.
American Classic Pedigrees is focused on the bloodlines that have produced the champions and Classic winners of North and South America and is dedicated to everyone who loves Thoroughbreds—owners, breeders, trainers and fans. If you enjoy what you find here, please visit often and tell your friends! You'll find something new here almost every day, and suggestions are always welcome.

Books provides information about my previous books, as well as new projects in the works.
Articles is your gateway to general articles about Thoroughbreds and to links to articles previously published in The Blood-Horse.
Hoofprints is a blog about Thoroughbred racing and pedigrees. It includes "Mares on Monday," which focuses on mares with important links to the previous week's racing.
Horse Profiles takes you to the indexes for the horses whose profiles are included on this site. Names in blue indicate active links; if they are still black, they represent planned additions.
Links will help you find some of my favorite resources on the Internet.
About ACP provides information about the history of the site and its author and contributors. It also provides information for anyone interested in contributing information or pictures.

The Kingmaker: How Northern Dancer Created a Racing Dynasty
April 20, 2023
Got some great news. My Northern Dancer book, The Kingmaker, was among the titles picked up when TOBA sold the rights to books published under the Blood-Horse's Eclipse Press imprint to the parent company of Globe Pequot Press. GP is now looking at re-releasing The Kingmaker in April 2024 under its Lyons Press imprint. That's excellent news in itself as far as I'm concerned, but it also means that I could have three books out with connections to the 2024 Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks that spring (60th anniversary for Northern Dancer in the Derby).
