Lady Winborne was impeccably bred, but her racing career was too short for her to do more than flash talent. She proved the worth of her bloodlines as a broodmare, producing six stakes winners during her long career in the paddocks, and several of her daughters have also had success as producers.

Foaled in Kentucky, Lady Winborne was bred and owned by Mrs. Allen F. Manning. A foundation mare for Diane Perkins' Wimborne Farm, she was humanely destroyed due to the infirmities of old age in June 2000 and was buried at the farm.

She is a half sister to the great Allez France (by Sea-Bird), whose five championships in France included Horse of the Year honors in 1974. In addition to her honors as a race mare, Allez France is the dam of French Group III winner Action Francaise (by Nureyev), who in turn produced five stakes winners including French Group III winners Android (by Riverman) and Article Rare (by El Prado) and is the second dam of four stakes winners including 2000 India Cements South India Oaks winner Premium Point.
