1905 – c. 1928
Nasturtium (USA) x Endurance by Right (USA), by Inspector B. (USA)
Family 3-d
Stamina was not as dominant on the track as her dam Endurance by Right had been, but she lived up to her heritage as the daughter of two American champions by becoming a two-time American champion. She was a successful broodmare as well, but her female line has long since vanished as a source of high-class horses.

Connections
Foaled in New Jersey at Brookdale Stud, Stamina was bred and owned by Harry Payne Whitney. She was trained by John W. Rogers at 2 and by Andrew Joyner at 3, following Rogers’ death in February 1908. She was sent to England in October 1908 but returned to the United States for broodmare duty. She produced her last foal, the Wildair filly Untamed, in 1928.
Pedigree notes
Stamina is inbred 4x4 to 1860 St. Leger Stakes winner St. Albans. Sired by 1901 American champion 2-year-old male Nasturtium, she was produced from 1901 American co-champion 2-year-old filly Endurance by Right, who produced only two other named foals.
Sired by 1886 co-champion American 3-year-old male Inspector B. (by Enquirer), Endurance by Right was produced from the English import Early Morn, whose sire Silvester (by St. Albans) was a half brother to 1877 Derby Stakes and St. Leger Stakes winner Silvio (by Blair Athol). Early Morn, in turn, is out of Late Nights, whose sire Cremorne won the 1872 Derby Stakes and Grand Prix de Paris and the 1873 Ascot Gold Cup. The next mare in Stamina’s tail-female line, Small Arms, was sired by Lacydes, a son of 1844 Derby Stakes winner and three-time English champion sire Orlando, out of an unnamed daughter of England’s first Triple Crown winner, West Australian.
