Audience was closely related to two-time American champion Blue Girl and, while not as good a racer, still had substantial ability. She won both the Kentucky Oaks and the Tennessee Oaks with ease, but her best race may have been on June 10 of her 3-year-old season, when she won a 10-furlong handicap at Gravesend with the previous season's champion 3-year-old male, Africander, in the beaten field. She was exported to France as a broodmare but not before producing two of her most important foals: the top racer and sire Whisk Broom II and the Whitney foundation mare Matinee.

Following Captain Brown's death, she was purchased from Fasig-Tipton's dispersal sale of his stock for US$12,000 by his brother, Captain W. Harry Brown, for his Senorita Stud in November 1906. Audience went back to the auction block when Senorita Stud dispersed in November 1908 and sold for US$5,000 to T. F. Kelly. She was exported to France in 1910, where she was owned by Clarence Mackay and Charles Carroll. She was later brought back to North America and was reported as sold in 1919 for US$7,000. She concluded her broodmare career as the property of Commander J. K. L. Ross.
