Awesome Feather enjoyed a dream season at 2, when she went unbeaten in her native Florida before delivering a professional score in the Grey Goose Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (USA-G1). She was a Grade 1 winner again at 3 but was limited to a total of five starts at 3 and 4 by physical issues. Exported to Japan, she has yet to produce anything commensurate with her own racing class.

As a producer

Connections
Foaled in Florida, Awesome Feather was bred and owned by Fred Brei’s Jacks Or Better Farm and was initially trained by Stanley Gold. She was ridden to her win in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies by Jeffrey Sanchez. Two days after her Breeders’ Cup score, she went through the sale ring at the 2010 Fasig-Tipton November sale and went to Frank Stronach’s Adena Springs operation for US$2.3 million. After her sale, she was trained by Chad Brown. In 2013, Awesome Feather (then in foal to Medaglia d’Oro) was resold at the same venue for US$1.9 million, going to Katsumi Yoshida, and was exported to Japan.
