On paper, the cross of Bold Ruler to Grey Flight looked made to order for getting a precocious runner, and so it proved with Bold Princess. Nonetheless, she was a better broodmare than racer and came close to rivaling her champion half sister Misty Morn as the best of Grey Flight's daughters in the paddocks. Although she did not throw any champions, she did produce a very good sire, two Grade 1 winners or the equivalent and several useful producers.
