Mr. Prospector (USA) x Killaloe (USA), by Dr. Fager (USA)
Family 16-a
.Undefeated in sprints as a juvenile, Fappiano matured into a high-class miler. He was an even better stallion than he was a racehorse and helped to establish Mr. Prospector's reputation as a sire of sires. Even though he died young, he succeeded in establishing the most classically oriented branch of the Mr. Prospector tribe and was one of the most consistent sires of class among Mr. Prospector's sons.

Fun facts
- Fappiano was named after Giuseppe Carmine Fappiano, the birth name of New York Times sportswriter Joseph C. Nichols.
- Fappiano might never have come into existence except for the persistence of John Nerud, who talked Mr. Prospector's then-owner Abram “Butch” Savin into allowing the stallion to cover Killaloe in June in spite of Savin's antipathy for late foals. In turn, Fappiano's racing earnings and appreciation in value as a stallion made Nerud a wealthy man.
