Flawlessly showed promise on dirt as a youngster but also showed ability on turf. After bleeding in her first start at 3 in New York, she transferred to California, where she could race on Lasix, then not permitted in New York, and made only one more start on dirt before moving to the turf for good. While she had a rather delicate constitution, she had all the gritty will to win of her sire Affirmed and captured nine Grade 1 races in her career. Unfortunately, she was able to produce only two foals, and neither approached her own class although her daughter Dreamlike was a good broodmare.

As an individual
A bay mare, Flawlessly was described as having “picture-horse elegance” by bloodstock expert and author John Sparkman. She pulled up in her first start of her 3-year-old season, the Busanda Stakes, and was found to have bled; from then on out, she raced on Lasix (furosemide). Her favorite trip was over 9 furlongs on turf, and her only defeats at this distance were when she got poor trips. She did not care for having her races too close together. A sweet-natured mare, she was completely consistent on the racetrack and was described as a "push-button" horse to ride. She had a history of kidney problems as a broodmare prior to the attack that killed her.
As a producer
Flawlessly produced only two foals in a broodmare career hampered by reproductive woes. Her only winner, the Storm Cat filly Flawlessness, died of colitis-X as a 4-year-old. Her other foal, the unraced Storm Cat filly Dreamlike, produced multiple Group 2 winner Woke Up Dreamin (by Holy Bull), multiple Grade/Group 3 winner Denomination (by Smart Strike), and Grade 3 winner Lemon Drop Dream (by Lemon Drop Kid). Dreamlike is also the second dam of 2017 Hungarian champion male sprinter Duce
Connections

After her first start at 3, she was transferred to the barn of Charlie Whittingham. She died of kidney problems in September 2002 and was buried at Elmwood Farm near Versailles, Kentucky.
