Fun facts
- The Rare Perfume Stakes was contested in New York in 1979-1995. A Grade 2 stakes at that point, its name was changed to the Garden City Breeders' Cup Stakes. In 2014, it went through another name change, becoming the Belmont Oaks Invitational Stakes (USA-G1).
