Sardula possessed abundant talent coupled with more than abundant bad luck. Near the top of her class at 2 and 3, she dropped several decisions in top races by short margins, costing her possible championship status. She never got the chance to see if she could pass on her ability as she lost a battle with bone disease at age 4.

Assessments
Rated at 122 pounds on the Experimental Free Handicap for American juvenile fillies of 1994, 1 pound below champion Phone Chatter.
Rated at 121 pounds on the Daily Racing Form's Free Handicap for American 3-year-old fillies of 1994, 5 pounds below co-highweights Heavenly Prize (the official divisional champion) and Lakeway.
As an individual
A bay filly, Sardula was agile and athletic with a highly competitive nature but was high-strung.
Connections
Foaled in Kentucky. Sardula was bred by M&M Stables (Bob McCann and Pope McLean Sr.) and Overbrook Farm (William T. Young). She was owned by Jerome S. Moss and his wife Ann, who purchased the filly for US$40,000 as a yearling. She was trained by Brian Mayberry and was ridden to her Kentucky Oaks score by Eddie Delahoussaye. After her leg infection was diagnosed, she was treated at the Alamo Pintado Equine Research Center near Los Olivos, California, but was euthanized when it became apparent that her condition was not responding to treatment. She was buried on the research center’s grounds.
Pedigree notes
Sardula’s pedigree is outcrossed through five generations. She is a full sister to stakes winner Tempest Dancer, dam of Grade 3 winner Windrush (by Seeking the Gold). She is also a half sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Imperial Gesture (by Langfuhr) and to Czar’s Princess (by Czaravich), dam of the minor stakes winner Summer Prince (by Summer Squall) and second dam of 2002 Queen’s Plate (CAN-R) winner T J’s Lucky Moon. 2008 Metropolitan Handicap (USA-G1) winner Divine Park and Grade 3 winner Imperial Czar.
Honor an Offer, the dam of Sardula, never raced but is a half sister to stakes winners Tea Sipper (by Gallant Romeo), Wayward Ace (by Elocutionist) and Raise the Bridge (by Raise a Cup). The last-named mare is the dam of multiple stakes winner Secret Mirage (by Secreto) and restricted stakes winner Yankee Tradition (by Dehere) and the third dam of Grade 3 winner Hey Leroy. Honor an Offer and her siblings were produced from stakes-placed Bridget o’ Brick, a daughter of the Johns Joy horse Mr. Brick.
Bridget o’ Brick, in turn, is out of the Correlation mare Drop Shot, whose half sister My Nord (by Vent du Nord) produced multiple Grade 1 winner Annoconnor (by Nureyev) and 1986 Melbourne Cup (AUS-G1) winner At Talaq (by Roberto) and second dam of Group 3 winners Scribe and Far Lane. Produced from the County Delight mare My Alison, Drop Shot is also a half sister to multiple stakes winner Biller (by Bolinas Boy); to Mlle.
