One of four stakes winners produced by the remarkable association of the Round Table horse Table Play and the Argentine broodmare Filipina, Telefónico was a Classic winner in Argentina and showed good form in the United States as well. He returned to South America to race as a 5-year-old and was then retired to stud. Excepting his Argentine-sired son Salvate Tel, winner of the Gran Premio Carlos Pellegrini (ARG-G1), he had most of his successes in Venezuela.
