Eastern Echo was unbeaten in a brief, brilliant juvenile career, but injury left the question of whether he could have trained on at 3 unanswered. He was an inconsistent stallion, in part because he tended to pass on his own heavy-topped build, but did sire Swiss Yodeler, a Grade I winner who became a good regional sire in California.

1990:
As an individual
A handsome, powerfully built bay horse, Eastern Echo had an excellent shoulder and strong hindquarters, with muscling extending well down into his forearms and gaskins. He stood over 16.2 hands and was rather heavy-topped. He was forced into retirement from racing by a fractured sesamoid. As a stallion, he had an excellent disposition; those who knew him well described him as highly intelligent and “a gentleman.” Regarding his ability, trainer Mack Miller said of him, "He was as good a horse as I've ever trained."
As a stallion
According to records kept by The Jockey Club, Eastern Echo sired 298 winners (54.7%) and 20 stakes winners (3.7%) from 545 named foals; The Blood-Horse credits him with 22 stakes winners (4.0%).
Notable progeny
Buddy Gil (USA), Popular Gigalo (USA), Swiss Yodeler (USA)
