Clearly the best Canadian filly of her generation on the racetrack, Flaming Page gained even greater fame as a broodmare. Although she produced only three foals, she left a lasting mark on the Thoroughbred through her great son Nijinsky II and through her daughter Fleur, dam of champion and successful sire The Minstrel.

Assessments
Rated at 115 pounds on the Canadian Free Handicap for juveniles of 1961, co-highweighted among fillies with First Note.
Rated at 119 pounds on the Canadian Free Handicap for 3-year-olds of 1962, tops among fillies by 5 pounds over second-rated Vase.
Rated at 115 pounds on the Daily Racing Form's Free Handicap for American-raced 3-year-old fillies of 1962, 13 pounds below champion Cicada but tied for fifth overall.
As an individual
A tall, handsome, rangy bay mare with a deep shoulder, Flaming Page was rather masculine. She had the sickle hocks of her sire, which she tended to transmit, but lacked the pigeon toes commonly seen in other members of her female family. She was forced into retirement from racing by an injury sustained during the running of the 1962 Coaching Club American Oaks.
As a producer
A Reine-de-Course as designated by pedigree analyst Ellen Parker, Flaming Page produced only three foals that lived to be named, all of some interest:
Connections
Foaled in Ontario, Flaming Page was and owned bred by E. P. Taylor at his Windfields Farm. She was trained by Horatio Luro. After producing a Northern Dancer colt that died shortly after a rough foaling in 1969, Flaming Page was left with a prolapsed uterus. While this was repaired, she was unable to conceive again and was pensioned from broodmare duty in 1975. She died in 1984 and was buried at Windfields' Maryland division on land that is now part of Winbak Farm, a Standardbred nursery.
Pedigree notes
Flaming Page is outcrossed through five generations. She is a half sister to Canadian stakes winners Top Tourn (by Tournoi), Quintain (by Tournoi) and Flashing Top (by Ménétrier) and to Friendly Relations (by Nearctic), dam of stakes winner Viendra (by Raise a Native) and second dam of Australian Group 1 winner Bellzevir and Grade 3 winners Morning Frolic, Endow, and Irish Forever. Flaming Page is also a half sister to Gleam (by Tournoi), dam of stakes winner Evening Bag (by Bagdad) and second dam of 1976 Laurel Futurity (USA-G1) winner Royal Ski; to Flaming Wind (by Windfields), dam of stakes winner French Wind (by Ménétrier) and second dam of multiple Venezuelan champion Blondy; to Merry and Bright (by Ménétrier), dam of stakes winner Fanfaron (by Victoria Park); and to Flaming Victress (by Victoria Park), dam of stakes winner All for Victory (by One for All) and second dam of 1987 Canadian champion 2-year-old filly Phoenix Factor, Grade 3 winner Wasatch, and the good Canadian sire Cool Victor.
Flaring Top, the dam of Flaming Page, is a winning half sister to two-time American champion filly Doubledogdare (by Double Jay), second dam of French Group 2 winner Full of Stars. Flaring Top is also a half sister to the stakes-winning colts Illuminable (by Sun Again) and Top Double (by Double Jay) and to Way to Go (by Olympia), dam of stakes winners Toward (by Bagdad) and Transportation (by Sir Gaylord). The next dam in the female line, Flaming Top (by Omaha) is a half sister to 1937 Widener Challenge Cup Handicap winner Columbiana (by Petee-Wrack; dam of the good stakes winners Ocean Wave and Free America, both by Blenheim II), to stakes winner Red Vulcan (by Pompey), and to stakes producers Red Top (by Sir Gallahad III) and Snow Flame (by Blenheim II).

A Reine-de-Course as designated by pedigree analyst Ellen Parker, Flaming Page produced only three foals that lived to be named, all of some interest:
- Fleur (1964, by Victoria Park) was stakes-placed as a juvenile. She produced 1977 English Horse of the Year The Minstrel (by Northern Dancer), his full brothers Far North and Pilgrim (a French Group 3 winner and a listed stakes winner, respectively) and his stakes-winning half sister Flower Princess (by Majestic Prince), dam of stakes winner Dance Flower (by Northern Dancer).
- Nijinsky II (1967, by Northern Dancer) was the undisputed champion of his crop at both 2 and 3 in England and Ireland and was Horse of the Year in England in 1970. He was champion sire in England in 1986 and led the American broodmare sire list in 1993 and 1994.
- Minsky (1968, by Northern Dancer) was the Irish champion 2-year-old male of 1970. Low-slung and blocky, he was a very different physical type than Nijinsky II, who closely resembled his dam. He was not a success at stud and was exported to Japan.

Fun facts
- Flaming Page was the first filly to complete the Canadian (or Woodbine) Oaks/Queen's Plate double. Since then, the feat has been accomplished by La Lorgnette (1985), Dance Smartly (1991), Dancethruthedawn (2001), Inglorious (2011), Lexie Lou (2014), Holy Helena (2017), and Moira (2022).
- Flaming Page was the first mare bred to Northern Dancer. She was so much taller than her diminutive mate that it was necessary to stand her in a shallow trough dug into the floor of the breeding shed to allow Northern Dancer to make the cover. Unfortunately, the resulting foal was a dead colt.
- The Flaming Page Stakes was an overnight stakes for fillies and mares at Woodbine.
