A huge filly of marked stamina, High Bid was slow in coming to hand but was among the best sophomore females of her crop once she did. She achieved distinction as a broodmare as well, producing champions both on the flat and over jumps.
Race record
30 starts, 9 wins, 4 seconds, 8 thirds, US$151,122

Assessments
Co-highweighted with divisional co-champion Silver Spoon at 126 pounds on the Daily Racing Form's Free Handicap for American 3-year-old fillies of 1959, one pound above the other official co-champion, Royal Native.
As an individual
A plain, strapping bay mare who measured 16.2 hands in October of her 3-year-old season, High Bid had weak ankles and was inclined to be too heavy for her underpinnings even though she had plenty of bone. She had a long, well-sloped shoulder and a long, equally well-angled pelvis. She was inclined to be dominant and nippy around the barn, especially when approaching peak condition. She did not race after her busy 3-year-old season, when she made 21 starts. She was troubled by reproductive issues and ended her broodmare career by going barren in 1973–1976.
As a producer
High Bid produced seven named foals, of which five started and four won. Her important foals are as follow:
