The descendant of a top-class South American family, Pitu da Guanabara was the fastest Brazilian-based racehorse of his day, earning two titles as Brazil’s champion sprinter. Unfortunately, he was not nearly as good a sire as he was a racehorse and left no lasting mark on breeding.
