Ringaro showed promise as a juvenile but failed to stay sound long enough to prove whether or not that promise was more than a flash in the pan. Exported to Argentina as a prospective stallion, he had a far more enduring record, becoming an important sire and broodmare sire in his adopted country.

Foaled in Kentucky, Ringaro was bred by North Ridge Farm. A US$75,000 yearling at the 1980 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky sale, he was owned by Gustave Ring. He was trained by Carlos Garcia and was ridden during his brief career by Angel Cordero Jr. In 1983, he was sent to Argentina, where his last foals were registered in 1996.
