Trusted Partner was one of four stakes-winning fillies produced by 1973 American champion 2-year-old filly Talking Partner’s repeated matings to the great Affirmed. The best of them on the race course, she also proved to be the most important in the breeding shed and stands at the head of a European branch of the family of the great American matriarch Bourtai.

Foaled in Kentucky, Trusted Partner was bred and owned by Walter Haefner’s Moyglare Stud Farm, racing in the name of Moyglare in Europe and in that of Walter Haefner in the United States. She was trained by Dermot Weld in Europe and by Victor “Lefty” Nickerson in the United States. She was ridden to her score in the Irish One Thousand Guineas by Mick Kinane. A broodmare for Moyglare throughout her producing career, she was pensioned after producing the Namid filly Myth and Magic in 2005 and died in 2014.

- Trusted Partner was one of six winners of the C. L. Weld Park Stakes for trainer Dermot Weld, who was sponsoring the race in the name of his father Charlie Weld, also a trainer. In 2014-2017, the name of Dermot Weld’s mother Marguerite was added and the race was then known as the C. L. & M. F. Weld Park Stakes. Since 2018, it has been run as the Weld Park Stakes.
