Al Mufti had some talent as a racehorse but lacked the ability to finish out a winner against good stakes horses. He proved the worth of his regal bloodlines as a leading sire in South Africa and got at least one good sire son in Captain Al, champion sire in South Africa in 2014/2015 and an eight-time champion juvenile sire in that country.
