Although she was a stakes winner during her own racing days, Leslie's Lady far exceeded the expectations Fred and Nancy Mitchell had for her when they purchased her as a broodmare for their Clarkland Farm. She was then the dam of a yearling colt named Into Mischief, who would become a Grade 1 winner and a champion sire. Four years following her purchase, Leslie's Lady threw one of the greats in four-time American champion Beholder, and these accomplishments earned her Kentucky Broodmare of the Year honors for 2016. She was not done even then, producing another Grade 1 winner in Mendelssohn.
