This filly was the first Kentucky Derby mount for a jockey who later rode two Derby winners, including an American Triple Crown winner. Who was she, where did she finish in the Derby, and who was the jockey?

Flamma, finished third in the 1912 Derby. Ridden by John Loftus, who won the Derby with George Smith in 1916 and the Triple Crown with Sir Barton in 1919.

Well done to all of you! For the record, Flamma is the best-fit answer to the question as Johnny Loftus rode exactly two Kentucky Derby winners, including 1919 Triple Crown winner Sir Barton. Nellie Flag did indeed carry a future Derby and Triple Crown-winning jockey in his Derby debut, but Arcaro won five Derbies and two Triple Crowns.
