Resolver was a nice race mare, but she excelled as a broodmare. A great-granddaughter of the great producer Grey Flight, she added to the family reputation with four stakes winners (two of them multiple Grade 1 winners) and several daughters who had some success in the paddocks.

Resolver was produced from the unraced Swaps mare Lovely Morning. A half sister to five stakes winners including American champion juvenile males Bold Lad and Successor (both by Bold Ruler), she is out of 1955 American champion 3-year-old filly and co-champion handicap female Misty Morn, the 1963 Kentucky Broodmare of the Year. Misty Morn, in turn, is by Princequillo out of the remarkable matron Grey Flight, making her a full or half sister to eight other stakes winners including two-time American champion sire What a Pleasure (by Bold Ruler).
