Sired by Dancing Moss from a full sister to the great Argentine-based broodmare Fallow, Fatly was an older full brother to the undefeated 1986 Argentine Horse of the Year, Fain, and a brother in blood to 1979 Argentine champion stayer Farmer. He sired a few high-class runners but did not succeed in getting a good sire son, nor was he a success as a broodmare sire.
