Sired by Dancing Moss from a full sister to the great Argentine-based broodmare Fallow, Fain was a full brother to two-time Argentine champion Fatly and a brother in blood to 1979 Argentine champion stayer Farmer but was even better, never knowing defeat on the race course. Unfortunately, he was worse than either of his close relatives as a sire and had no lasting impact.
