A mare that showed close to championship ability in her native Argentina, Fizz earned a championship in Brazil in 1973 after capturing the country’s biggest all-aged race, the Grande Prêmio Brasil. She was one of eight stakes winners and three champions produced from the great Argentine-based broodmare Fallow but was a far better racer than producer.

A chestnut mare; no further information available.
As a producer
Fizz produced 10 named foals, of which seven started and four won. Her only foal of any importance as a racer or producer is her unraced 1983 daughter Life’s Joy (by Liloy), second dam of Argentine Group 3 winner Una Pasion.
Connections
Fizz was bred by Haras Argentino. She raced under the colors of Caballeriza Palermo and was trained by Anibal J. Giovanetti. In 1974, she was exported to the United States, where she spent her broodmare career. Her first four foals were bred by Cynthia Phipps. Fizz then passed to the ownership of Murty Farm and Carl J. Maggio, who bred two more foals from her. Her next owner was Blue Grass Breeders, which bred her remaining four foals; the last, the 1988 Skywalker gelding Skycaper, was bred in partnership with Thomas P. Tatham. Fizz disappears from the produce records after 1994, when she was reported as barren.
