Quiet Dance had enough talent to become a Grade 2-placed stakes winner on the track, but she proved a far better broodmare than runner. Five stakes winners, including an American Horse of the Year, would be an excellent production record for any mare, but her record also includes producing daughters with another American Horse of the Year to their credit.

As an individual
A gray mare (officially registered as gray or roan), Quiet Dance was short-coupled and sturdy in make with a good shoulder, strong hindquarters, a straight hind leg and short cannons. She had a sweet nature, enjoyed human attention, and was fond of peppermints.
As a producer
Quiet Dance produced 14 named foals, of which 12 started and won. Her important foals are as follow:
Connections
Foaled in Kentucky, Quiet Dance was bred by the Executive Bloodstock Management Corporation. She was owned by Edward Evans, who purchased Quiet Dance as a yearling for US$75,000 from the 1994 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga sale. When Evans' bloodstock was dispersed at the 2011 Keeneland November mixed sale following his death, Quiet Dance (then 18 and not in foal) went for US$800,000 to Besilu Stables. She was last bred in 2016 but failed to get pregnant and died in October 2019.
Pedigree notes
Quiet Dance is inbred 5x5x4 to two-time American Horse of the Year Native Dancer and 5x4 to two-time American champion sire Princequillo, also an eight-time American champion broodmare sire. She is a half sister to Fog Dance (by Unbridled's Song), dam of 2012 Del Mar Futurity (USA-G1) winner Rolling Fog (by Posse).
Quiet Dance is out of Misty Dancer, a half sister to 1986 Irish champion 2-year-old filly Minstrella (by The Minstrel). Minstrella, a successful broodmare, produced Grade 3 winners Minidar (by Alydar; dam of Grade 2 winner A Little Warm, by Stormin Fever) and Colonial Minstrel (by Pleasant Colony; dam of stakes winners Storm Minstrel, by Storm Cat, and Grand Minstrel, by Grand Slam) as well as multiple listed stakes winner Unrestrained (by Unbridled). In addition, Minstrella produced Minicolony (by Pleasant Colony), dam of Grade 3 winner Almasty (by Scat Daddy), and Colonella (by Pleasant Colony), dam of Grade 3 winner Pleasant Strike (by Smart Strike).
Misty Dancer and Minstrella are out of stakes-placed Flight Dancer (by Misty Flight), also the dam of Grade 2 winner Misty Gallore (by Halo; dam of the good sire Silver Ghost, by Mr. Prospector) and a half sister to 1973 Argentine champion sire Dancing Moss (by Ballymoss). The next dam in Saint Liam's tail-female line is stakes winner Courbette (by Native Dancer), a half sister to stakes winner Mlle. Lorette (by Lovely Night) and a daughter of the great Gallorette.
