A member of a high-class Argentine family that has produced champions in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, and Scandinavia, Zorro Rojo earned his championship on the basis of a big win in the Premio O.S.A.F. (PER-G1). He was afterward sent to the United States but was unable to reproduce his Peruvian form there, winning only one minor race from seven starts in 2004 and 2005. He does not appear to have stood at stud.
